Reef Monitoring

In order to assess coral reef health and monitor changes over time, we conduct assessments twice a year to observe fish and invertebrate abundance and diversity, and percentage of coral cover at 16 different sites in the Koh Sdach archipelago. We employ the transect method and survey 100 meter stretches at each site following the Reef Check protocol. The data we collect is used to reinforce a Marine Fisheries Management Area and contribute towards the establishment of a Marine Protected Area in the region.
