Habitat Mapping

Measuring the size and arrangement of habitats, coral reefs and seagrass in our case, is important for us for establishing the locations of new protected areas. The approach we take at KudaDivers is in-water habitat surveys to ensure an accurate depiction of the area we are mapping. We do this by swimming along the reef and dropping weighted marker buoys every 50 meters and taking coordinates at the surface with a GPS.
